Prepare yourself for an epic double header! Straight out from Panorama Bar, marquee DJ Tama Sumo, and key player in the background of the Berlin music scene, Lakuti will be playing at VENT!

Tama Sumo, marquee DJ of the famed Panorama Bar, respected by DJs all over the globe, and Lakuti, label owner, management company operator, and engineer, not to mention promoter who supports the scene from the backend, will be coming to VENT on September 21 for an epic double-headlining performance!

You’ll have a hard time finding a DJ who gets as much cred and respect as Tama Sumo does. Kicking off his DJ career in the mid-90s, he made a name for himself in the Berlin scene playing at Ostgut, predecessor to Tresor and Berghain, and has been resident at Panorama Bar since its early times. House, techno, jazz, disco, broken beats, soul, funk, afro beat – you name it – Tama Sumo incorporates sounds from a wide array of genres into his mixes, continuously evolving style, and as a DJ he communicates to audiences all around the world through music.

On the other end of the double header is Lakuti, raised in South Africa, it will be his first time performing in Japan. He has been collaborating with Portable since he was young. He moved to London in 1997, and along with Trojan Soundsystem, he organized a weekly Friday night party at the legendary underground sound hub, Plastic People. After moving to Berlin, he established Uzuri Recordings, and subsequently set up The Uzuri Artist Booking & Management Agency, which has gone on to manage the likes of Levon Vincent, Joey Anderson, and XDB to name a few.

Tama Sumo and Lakuti are also partners in music production, are co-curators of Panorama Bar’s Friday program, and, in general, have contributed significantly to the development of Berlin’s music scene. This party will be like stepping into Berlin’s Panorama Bar, but at Tokyo’s VENT!
