Power duo C.P.I., who represent the trendy Hivern Discs label and have been getting a huge push from The xx, will be touching down in Japan for the first time!

Along with John Talabot, C.P.I. have long had a hand running Hivern Discs. They have even remixed The xx. C.P.I. consists of DJ/producer Marc Pinol who is highly respected in the Barcelona underground, and Hugo Capablanca owner of the Discos Capablanca label out of Berlin – this super duo will be dropping knowledge at VENT on October 18th – their first gig in Japan!

C.P.I. released their first single “El Tunel/Proceso” on Hivern Discs back in 2015. To this day, El Tunel – a massive track that clocks in at over 15 minutes – is being played by DJs all over, as well as the Barnt remix of Proceso, which sends the audience into a frenzy every time the needle drops – a certified floor destroyer! In 2018 they released the tripped-out and deep techno masterpiece “Meine Hand”. Currently, they are working on releasing their first full-length album, which should see a release date within this calendar year.

From 80s era experimental to kraut rock, obscure disco tracks, “electronica”, mutant techno, trance, and Belgian New Beat; from early acid to all sorts of industrial sounds, C.P.I.’s DJ sets are a meditation on manipulation of variety – every show is a new experience filled with unique sounds and styles, but one thing remains certain: you’re going to be left with a belly full of dope beats.
