Khidja returns to VENT, on October 27th!

Khidja has been laying down addictive sounds, over and over! With their Arabic-styled modern electronic sound, this Romanian duo has captured the attention of artists like Andrew Weatherall and Rex Axes, and now they are slated to make a return to VENT after two long years! They’ll be hitting the decks at Mustache X’s Notooserious on October 27th.

Axes and Moscoman paving the way for what has been called Modern Ethnic, what was the Nu Disco scene has now enveloped House and Techno and is becoming the centerpiece of this era. And Khidja are like a beacon of light for this new, amalgamated scene. They combine electronic music from the Middle East with organic sounds; synths with traditional Arab instruments harmonizing with a grunge-tinged guitar sounding like an interation of Krautrock.

Khidja are ushering in a new area of music, which can be described as a hybrid of House, Techno, New Wave and Industrial blended with Middle Eastern atmospherics collected over the years. On the domestic front are Mustache X, who is not only active with Fake Eyes Production, but also started the Braian Ray party this year, and Que Sakamoto, member of Huit Etoiles who has set his sights from Tokyo to working abroad, and has been furiously creating music and giggin overseas the last few years (he’s set to play some dates in the US and Mexico come November), will also be playing. This time’s Notooserious will have various genres of music blending in together to set the sort of vibe you’d feel before you set off on a long journey or adventure, so be sure not to miss out!
