エレクトロニック・ミュージック界の巨匠、The Orbが至高の最新ライブセットで来日

移り変わりの激しいエレクトロニック・ミュージック・シーンに於いて、常に時代の最先端で革新的な作品を送り出し続けているThe Orbが8月23日のVENTにライブセットで初登場！

アレックス・パターソンとThe KLFのジミー・コーティーのプロジェクトとして始動したThe Orb。ジミー・コーティーの脱退以降、スラッシュ、キリング・ジョークのユース、システム７のスティーヴ・ヒレッジなど多数のアーティストがアルバム毎に参加し常に世界的に話題になる作品をリリースしてきた。代表作は『The Orb’s Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld』『U.F.Orb』『Orbus Terrarum』など数知れない。

「アンビエント・ハウス」というエレクトロニック・ミュージックのジャンルを事実上具現化したアーティストでもあり、その後のチルアウト／アンビエント・ミュージックに多大な影響を与えてきた。長年、ジャーマン・エレクトロニック・ミュージック界の重鎮トーマス・フェルマンとの二人体制で活動も続けていた。近作では、レゲエ・ダブ界の伝説リー・スクラッチ・ペリーとのコラボ２連作や、名門レーベルKOMPAKTから2作を立て続けにリリース。そして昨年、イギリスの老舗レーベルCooking Vinylからリリースした旧友ユースとの共同プロデュースによる最新アルバム『No Sounds Are Out Of Bounds』では、ロジャー・イーノを筆頭にガイ・プラット（ピンク・フロイド）やジャー・ウォブル（PIL）など多彩なゲストをフィーチャーして話題となった。

その飽くなき制作意欲は枯れる事なく、彼らの創造力が再び最高潮に達していることを証明する傑作を次々と生み出すことで輝かしいキャリアを更新し続けるThe Orb。ダンス・ミュージック・シーンの最前線にて活躍を続けるThe Orbの最新ライブセットからは目が離せないだろう！

True maestros of electronic music, The Orb will be coming to Japan to perform their latest and greatest live set.

In the ever-changing electronic music scene, The Orb has always been at the forefront, producing some of the most innovative works of era of at the time. We are very proud to announce that The Orb will be making their first appearance at VENT, on August 23rd, to perform an all-new, live set!

The Orb was founded by Alex Paterson and The KLF member Jimmy Cauty. After Jimmy’s departure, many artists joined forces to produce an album with The Orb. Some of those artists include, Kris Thrash Weston, Youth of Killing Joke, Steve Hillage of System 7, to name a few. The Orb’s most notable albums are “The Orb’s Adventures beyond the Ultraworld”, “U.F.Orb”, and “Orbus Terrarum”.

The Orb is practically the embodiment of the ambient house music genre, and they have massively influenced the whole chill out/ambient music scene that came after it. For many years, The Orb’s Alex Paterson has been working with Swiss/German electronic music heavyweight, as a two-man team. Their more recent works have seen them collaborate with reggae/dub legend, Lee Scratch Perry, releasing two albums. Last year, they released a new album on the long-established label, Cooking Vinyl, and even their old friend Youth helped out on the production effort. Said album, “No sounds are out of Bounds”, featured an exciting rage of legendary guests, including, Roger Eno, Guy Pratt of Pink Floyd, and Jah Wobble of PiL.

Their insatiable appetite to producer will not go away! The Orb continues to renew themselves and show that they are still on the cutting-edge of creativity by producing masterpiece after masterpiece, showing that are still at the top of their game. We would like to extend a warm invitation to join us for what will surely be an unforgettable night with The Orb at the helm, playing a completely new live set, only at VENT!
