リビング・レジェンド、Thomas FehlmannがBanter初作品のリリースパーティーに登場

デトロイト〜ベルリンの架け橋としてベルリンのテクノ・シーンの礎を築き上げ、The Orbの長年のコラボ・メンバーとしても活躍してきたリビング・レジェンド、Thomas Fehlmann。Banterの初のリリース作品にリミキサーとして起用されたThomas Fehlmannと共に、リリース・パーティーを2月15日に開催！

Thomas Fehlmannは、79年にHolger HillerやMoritz Von Oswaldと共に伝説のニューウェイヴ・バンドPalais Schaumburgを結成。バンド解散後、ソロ活動を開始してからは、盟友Moritz Von Oswaldとのプロジェクト2MB、3MBでデトロイト・テクノのオリジネーターBlake BaxterやEddie FowlkesやJuan Atkinsと邂逅、デトロイトとベルリンの架け橋としてベルリンのテクノ・シーンの礎を築いた人物と言って過言ではないだろう。その後、The Orbの長年のコラボレーション・メンバーとして積極的にリリースに関わる。ソロ作品はR&SやTresor、KOMPAKTなどの名門レーベルからリリースし、多くの映像作品用にも楽曲を提供してきた。

今回のパーティーを仕掛けるBanterは、サウンド・プロデューサーのMossとVJのSITH aka So In The Houseが2017年に結成したミニマルでアシッドなオーディオ・ビジュアル・ユニットだ。Mossが生み出す緻密なサウンドにSITHがビジュアルをシンクロさせ、オーディエンスの聴覚と視覚を揺れ動かしてきた。Banter初のリリース作品”THER”がこの度リリースされることになり、リミキサーとしてThomas Fehlmannが起用されている。

静逸なアンビエントからミニマル＆テクノまでを自在に操り、ドイツのクラブ・シーンに非常に大きな貢献を残したThomas Fehlmannと、日本発のアップカミングな才能であるBanterが、共に創り出した作品のリリースパーティーで相見える一夜は注目に値するだろう！

Living legend Thomas Fehlmann set to play Banter’s debut release party

Thomas Fehlmann is a living legend who laid the cornerstones of the Berlin techno scene as a bridge between Detroit and Berlin, as well as a long-time collaborating member of The Orb. As remixer for the first release of Banter, he is set to play the release party at Omotesando VENT, on February 15th!

Fehlmann formed the celebrated new wave band Palais Shaumburg back in 1979 with partner Holger Hiller (who was replaced by Moritz von Oswald). After they broke up, he embarked on his solo career and began work on the 2MB and 3MB projects with friend and former bandmate Moritz von Oswald, as well as with Detroit techno originators Blake Baxter, Eddie Fowlkes, and Juan Atkins. It is no exaggeration to say that he had a large part in the bridging of the Detroit-Berlin connection. Subsequently, he went on to become a long-standing, collaborator for The Orb, proactively releasing tracks and albums.

Fehlmann has also released his solo works on prestigious labels like R&S, Tresor, and Kompakt, with many of his tracks used in videos.

This time’s party is for the first release by Banter, a minimal acid audio-visual unit, which was formed in 2017 by sound producer Moss and VJ SITH, a.k.a. So In The House. SITH synchronizes his visuals with the tight sounds produced by Moss, taking the audience on a sensory journey. We will be celebrating Banter’s first release, “THER”, of which Thomas Fehlmann is a remixer.

With a knack for manipulating freely styles from ambient to minimal and techno, Thomas Fehlmann has made great contributions to the German club scene. Along with local Japanese upstarts, Banter, this is release party is going to surely be a night to remember. So do not sleep on this one!
