Scuba, the techno heretic returns to performed his beloved Japanese fans.

Techno bad　boy, Scuba, will be returning to VENT for his second performance of the year, on October 5th! This comes after his superb 4-hour set at this past February’s Re:invent x MIND OFF party, and this time around he’s playing specifically for his beloved Japanese audience as makes his way back to Re:invent!

Since 2003, Scuba and his label, Hotflush, have heavily influenced the sharp shift toward harder basslines in the electronic music scene. Kicking off his career in UK garage, which subsequently turned into dubstep, he gradually moved toward releasing darker and heavier works. In addition to creating a highly popular label that essentially became the symbol of the underground at the time when tracks like Joy Orbison’s smash hit “Hyph Mngo” and Paul Woolford’s “Untitled” were dropped, he also helped kick start the careers of many artists from a wide range of genres, like Mount Kimbie, George Fitzgerald, and Sepalcure.

As a DJ and producer, Scuba is very well known in the UK electronic scene. So far, he has released 4 albums and was chosen to mix for the prominent DJ Kicks series, not to mention that he also holds a regular event at Berghain, and received the DJ Mag Best Live Act Award in 2013.

Re:invent is a trendy party organized by the Re:birth Festival – in the past they have invited over many popular artists from the underground techno scene, including Petar Dundov, Rrose, and Extrawelt.

Recently, Scuba hasn’t been DJ as much as before, and this his touring schedule has become more modest, but his performance this past February, which was a huge success, inspired him to come back for another show here in Japan. It has only been a few months since his last appearance, but you know this is going to be one hell of a show, that is sure to go well beyond the audience’s expectations!
