ポスト・ダブステップのシーンからさっそうと現れ、Ghostly International、KompaktそしてNinja Tuneと世界的な名門レーベルから引く手数多の才能、Dauwdが2月22日に急遽来日公演が決定！！

耳に心地よい電子サウンド、美しく重ねられていくサウンド・テクスチャー、そして何よりも新世代のアーティストならではのフレッシュな感覚。リリースを重ねるごとに新しい世界観を聴かせてくれるDauwdは、アメリカ出身でウェールズで育ち、いまではベルリンを拠点にしながらクラブイベントやラジオ、エキシビジョンの開催など幅広い分野を手掛けるアーティスト集団African Acid Is The Futureの一員としても活躍している。

エンジニアとしての腕前も持つDauwdは、2011年にダブステップのレーベルPictures Musicより”What’s There”でデビュー。これはカルトヒットとなり、再発されるまで中古盤が1万円を超えるプレ値で取引されるという異常事態に。その後は、チルハウス、ダウンテンポ、テックハウスといった作品にも果敢にチャレンジし、Ghostly International、Kompaktなどの名門レーベルからのリリースを経て、2017年にはNinja TuneのサブレーベルTechnicolourよりファースト・アルバム”Theory Of Colours”をリリース。デトロイト・ハウスとクラウトロックからの影響を受けた作品は大きな話題となった。

Dauwdの創り上げる美麗なエレクトロニック・サウンドは、初期のJames Blakeや、Bonobo、Kiasmosを彷彿とさせる言っても過言でない。2年ぶりとなる来日公演ではさらなる進化を遂げたパフォーマンスに期待をせずにはいられない！

Dauwd jump into the post-dubstep scene, quickly making a name for himself and becoming a highly in-demand artist for prestigious labels like Ghostly International, Kompakt, and Ninja Tunes. Now he will coming to Japan to perform for us at VENT, on February 22nd!

Pleasing-to-the-ear electronic sounds, beautifully superimposed sound textures, and above all the refreshing feel that can only be obtained from an artist of the new generation. This describes US-born, Wales-bred artist Dauwd. He is currently based in Berlin where he is quite active, doing club gigs, radio shows, exhibitions, and is a member of African Acid is the Future; he has got his hands in a wide range of cultural activities.

Dauwd, who is also an accomplished engineer, debuted in 2011 with “What’s There” from the dubstep label Pictures Music. This became a cult hit, and until reprints re-release, used vinyl went for over 10,000 yen. Subsequently, he went onto boldly challenge new forms of music like chill house, down tempo, and tech-house, releasing on top labels like Ghostly International and Kompakt, dropping his first album “Theory of Colours” on Ninja Tune’s sublabel, Technicolour. He is known for being highly influence by Detroit Techno and Kraut Rock.

Dauwd’s beautiful electronic sounds are reminiscent of early James Blake, Bonobo, or Kiasmos. This will be Dauwd’s first Japan show in nearly 2 years, and we can’t wait to see how he’s evolved! Don’t miss out!
